With the start of the 2017 CrossFit Open just around the corner, we wanted to help everyone get set up and answer any questions anyone might have about the Open before we get started.
The CrossFit Open is a series of 5 workouts that take place over a 5 week span, that are judged and scored. The Open starts on February 23rd and ends on March 27th. This is the first step to qualifying for the CrossFit Games every year. The top scores from each region will move on to compete at CrossFit Regionals and then the top scores from Regionals will move onto the CrossFit Games. The open is scalable and is an option to anyone that trains at Oregon CrossFit.
Even if you don’t plan on making a statement at the Games or even Regionals this year, what is great about the CrossFit Open, is that it is a chance for you to take part in something that every other Crossfitter in the World will also be partaking in as well. It is a way for the entirety of the CrossFit community to come together and have a little fun.
Every Friday(during the Open) here at Oregon CrossFit, we will be partaking in the CrossFit Open at designated times. 9:00AM and then again at 5:30PM and 6:30PM. All other classes will run as normal aside from the three class times listed above, which will be solely for the designated Open workouts. If those times will not work for you please email us firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your situation.
