Oregon CrossFit's Best of the West Summer Event 2019

The logistics first:

Registration will open on SATURDAY - JUNE 1st at 8:30am! Get registered quick - the popular divisions, Mens Rx and Womens Scaled Teams tend to sell out within the first day or two!

Final Date for Changes/Transfer of Registration would be Friday, August 16 2019. T-shirt order would be done in advance of that date, so no promises on getting the right shirt size if you transfer late after July 31st 2019.

There are no refunds.... You are welcome to sell your spot up until Friday, August 16th. If you sell your spot you will need to email sean@oregoncrossfit.com to get the sale finalized.

How to select a division to register for:

RX Team Division: RX is being able to complete the CrossFit Open as RX. This includes but isn't limited to being able to "RX" CrossFit named workouts such as; Grace, Isabel, Diane, Jackie, 30 M/U for time, Cindy. A scaled athlete would not be able to complete the above workouts as "RX'd". If you needed to scale the 2019 CrossFit Open and would still need to scale the 2018, 2017, 2016 CrossFit Open(today) you are a scaled athlete in terms of this event. If you have a partner that can successfully complete the higher skill gymnastics movements(and you can contribute a rep or two) you are good to sign up for RX Teams. The workouts will be task completion style.

Scaled Team athletes: You should be able to complete some reps of the following movements: push ups, squats 95/65 both front and back, Thrusters 65/45, Deadlift 135/95, Snatch 65/45, Clean 95/65, American KB Swing 53/35 and shoulder to overhead 95/65. Also one person on the team should be able to complete at least a few reps of the middle level gymnastic skills - Jumping Pull ups, T2B for example.

Masters Teams: We will base the Masters workouts off the 45-49 Age Range and use the appropriate movements that are associated with that age range. Please refer to the Games site for ideas, such as: http://games.crossfit.com/workouts/masters-qualifier/2016 The masters teams combined age will need to be 75+ years old and the minimum age for a masters athlete is 35. If you are within 3 months of the age minimum you may register for the Master Team Division.

Women's Scaled Team - Female

  • WOD 2: KB Snatch/BBJO

    30-25-20 KB Snatches and Burpee Box Jump Overs. 53/35lbs. Step up and over is allowed. 9 Minute Cap. Once KB is picked up to begin snatches, it may not touch the ground again. If KB touches the ground, team will need to complete 20 Goblet Squats as penalty.

  • WOD 1: Sandbagger

    AMRAP 8 mins, using 100/50lb sandbags.
    Carry sandbag out and back (20 yards out and back, +5 yards each round)
    5 T2B (alternative is that if the team decides, before workout starts, they can elect to complete 30 air squats instead of the 5 T2B each round)

  • WOD 3: The Ladder

    2012 Summer Games Throwback Ladder, + Jerks
    Proceed through a 14 station Ladder of increasing weights. At each station, the team, or individual will receive points for completing 1 Snatch, 1 Clean and 1 Jerk. Snatch = 2 points, Clean = 1 point, and Jerk = 1 point. If a team/individual completes a Snatch, Clean and Jerk, they would receive 4 points from that station. Time allowed at each station is 40 seconds of work and 10 seconds to transition

    60 Dumbbell Thrusters 35/20lbs. Sandbag must be held in front of torso (think bear hug position), by 1 partner, while Thrusters are being completed by the other partner. 100/50lb sandbag.
