Healthy Expenses

What is necessary for you to live a happy and healthy life? What are healthy expenses?

Unnecessary expenses are going to vary from person to person.  There are some things that are necessary to your health and wellness.  These are investments that provide you a longer and higher quality life. 

Fitness

Fitness is necessary.  To live a long and fulfilling life you need to be in good enough shape to enjoy your life.  This doesn’t mean you need to be the world’s strongest man or run in the olympics but it means you need to value improving your health.  

The best way to improve your physical fitness is to lift things, carry things, drag things, run, sprint and jump.  How you choose to do these things is up to you.  But what is important is that you are doing them 4-6x a week.  

If you value not having to think about and plan these sessions then you want to join a gym like OC that emphasizes these aspects of physical fitness. OC provides the accountability necessary to be successful. However, fitness can be improved on your own, a person just needs to spend the necessary time planning, money in purchasing the equipment, and energy in educating yourself to be successful.  

Nutrition

As a fitness professional, I always hear the same thing, eating healthy is expensive.  And I almost always reply the same way, eating healthy and eating out is expensive.  Eating at your house and being healthy is not.  

Preparing and cooking food at your house requires some time, but also is significantly less expensive than eating out.  The average American spends $20 a meal per person eating out, while the average person spends $4.00 a meal cooking.  

Food preparation can be very rewarding and educational.  Just takes some time and practice.  Similar to everything else worthwhile.  

Sleep

For sleep the biggest thing here is just building in positive habits around sleeping and actually going to bed.  For some people that is cutting back on habits that keep you from sleeping.  Turning the Tv off sooner, drinking less alcohol, etc.

Your health has to be a priority.  No matter what stage you are in life.  To maintain your health or improve it should be a priority in every single stage of your life.  The more you prioritize your personal health the easier it will be to improve everyone’s health around you.  Healthy expenses are worthwhile your health!
